Webinar overview:

This interactive webinar will bring together leading experts to explore the imminent reforms to the EU and UK Emissions Trading Scheme and the development of new carbon credit schemes across the aviation and shipping sectors. The session will look at the likely impact on carbon markets and carbon credit developers, as well as how the reforms will affect corporate net zero strategies.

The discussion will include:

  • An introduction to the imminent reforms to the EU and UK Emissions Trading Scheme, the next phase of the UN-backed aviation and shipping carbon credit regimes, and wider efforts to enhance carbon market integrity.
  • An overview of how these developments are likely to impact carbon markets and prices, and how businesses will have to respond.
  • A look at the potential impact on global trade through Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanisms.
  • An assessment of how the nascent carbon removal sector, including both nature-based and engineered removals, may be affected by the proposed changes.
  • Advice on how both carbon credit developers and corporate offtakers can navigate changes to the market and develop an optimal strategy to advance their net zero ambitions.
