Stuart Stone is editor of BusinessGreen Intelligence. He has led the platform's output since it launched in March 2023 by writing case studies, interviews and trend reports designed to help sustainable business leaders in their work. He has also provided news and analysis for the site since joining BusinessGreen in January 2023.

Stuart is particularly interested in green start-ups, culture and behaviour change, nature, the role of clean tech and circular innovation in day-to-day living, and the uphill battle to make sport more sustainable.

Prior to joining BusinessGreen, Stuart spent almost four years covering the hospitality and drinks sector at “pub trade bible” The Morning Advertiser, where he was a head category judge at the Great British Pub Awards on multiple occasions.

He also enjoyed a brief spell covering innovation and technology in the water and energy sectors at Utility Week, has freelanced for British GQ and Telegraph Sport, and written matchday blogs for UEFA’s Champions League, Europa League and international fixtures. Before training as a journalist Stuart spent four years working in commercial media at Men’s Fitness and The Telegraph Media Group’s branded content team.

Stuart studied journalism at City University, a BA in modern history and politics at Royal Holloway, University of London, and is certified Carbon Literate by The Carbon Literacy Project.

Josie Narramore

Climate Risk & Adaptation Lead, Equans

Josie is the Climate Risk and Adaptation Lead at Equans UK & Ireland, where she leads the development of the organisation’s climate adaptation service, supporting clients across a variety of sectors, including NHS trusts, private sector organisations and asset managers to understand, assess and manage their exposure to physical and transition climate risks. In this role, she focuses on integrating robust climate risk analysis into strategic decision‑making and strengthening resilience across the built environment. 

Prior to this, Josie worked within PwC UK’s and Global Sustainability practices, specialising in climate risk analytics and advisory. She led large multi‑year climate risk scenario analysis programmes for global organisations as well as supporting clients in embedding climate risk considerations into strategy, governance, and M&A processes. 

Josie began her career in PwC's Digital & Forensic Services team, where she qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and contributed to high‑profile investigations into governance, compliance and ESG‑related issues. 

Emma Howard Boyd CBE
Emma Howard Boyd CBE

Co-Chair, Climate Resilience for All & Chair, ClientEarth

Emma Howard Boyd has had a distinguished career focused on environmental issues and sustainable finance. She served as Chair of the Environment Agency for England from 2016 to 2022 and was an ex officio board member of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs during the same period. Appointed by the Mayor of London, Emma chaired the London Climate Resilience Review, publishing a full set of recommendations in July 2024 to help the city prepare for the increasing impacts of climate change such as extreme heat, flooding, droughts, wildfires, sea level rise and storms.

Currently, Emma chairs ClientEarth's Group Board and ClimateArc, and is a co-Chair of Climate Resilience for All. She is a member of the Supervisory Board of the European Climate Foundation and a Visiting Professor in Practice, Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, London School of Economics and Political Science.

Emma was the UK Commissioner to the Global Commission on Adaptation from 2018 until its sunset in January 2021.
Felicity Alvey
Felicity Alvey

Programme Director, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership

Felicity is the Programme Director for ClimateWise, the insurance industry leadership group convened by the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). In this role, she supports the transition of the insurance sector through the ClimateWise Principles and the development of academic research on topics such as nature, resilience, adaptation and innovation.

Before joining CISL, Felicity was Head of Sustainable Finance Innovation at the City of London Corporation where she led initiatives aimed at enhancing the UK as a global hub for sustainable finance, covering areas such as transition finance, carbon markets, nature finance, and impact investment. Her work at the Corporation included leading the design and establishment of the UK Transition Finance Council, which was co-launched by the City of London Corporation and UK Government and is chaired by Lord Alok Sharma.

Prior to this, Felicity led the work of strategic advisory firm, Global Counsel, on ESG and sustainable finance. She started her career as an investor at Ruffer LLP, a London-based investment manager, where she managed private client portfolios and worked on the integration of ESG considerations into the investment process.

Laurie Laybourn
Laurie Laybourn

Executive Director, Strategic Climate Risks Initiative (SCRI)

Laurie Laybourn is Executive Director of the Strategic Climate Risks Initiative (SCRI), a think-do tank that develops capabilities for securing a better world even as complex environmental-driven risks escalate. An award-winning researcher, Laurie holds fellowships at Chatham House, the University of Exeter, and the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR). Laurie is also an advisor to the UK Climate Change Committee and adelphi think tank and sits on the boards of Carbon Tracker and the Economic Change Unit, an organisation he founded. Previously, he led the UK Health Alliance on Climate Change and has worked at the LSE, Oxford University, and the UK Parliament. Laurie regularly writes for a range of publications and appears on TV and radio.
